Animals and fun galore! Your guide to the Swan Valley cuddly animal farm

It’s currently winter here in Perth so obviously that means a lot of our days are spent at home rugged up near the heater in our pyjamas! BUT, lately we have been blessed with some really beautiful sunshine days so what better way to take advantage of that than heading out and seeing what our city has to offer! I don’t know about you, but I’m always on the hunt to try and find new and exciting things for Noah to do which made us decide on going back to the Swan Valley cuddly animal farm! We have already been once before and had the best day out, I really feel like this place gives you a lot of bang for your buck! It is such a fun day out for both adults and children so I wanted to share this with you all in the hopes that if you haven’t been you will make the trip out here because it is so well worth it!

➻ The Swan Valley cuddly animal farm is approximately a 30 minute drive North from the heart of the City of Perth

➻ Entry includes a huge array of things from interacting with all the animals, free tractor/train rides, free unlimited playground time, free BBQ and picnic facilities, free merry-go-round rides and free bottle and bucket feeding of the animals just to name a few

➻ There is a small cafe on the grounds with plenty of hot food available to buy, and sweets and sandwiches to purchase from a cold fridge section as well. Plenty of tables, chairs and couches are available to sit at inside and under cover away from the heat and cold next to the cafe, along with highchairs and a small kids toy section available to use.  There are also plenty of tables located around the grounds and a separate undercover area filled with a huge amount of tables and chairs that is located across from the kids playground. This is where they host kids parties if that is of something of interest to you as well

➻ Small but adequate bathroom facilities are located on the grounds, just as you walk out into the main outdoor area. A baby change area is also available which is situated next to the main toilets as well

➻ The merry-go round runs on the hour each hour, however I did inquire while I was there about times and was told if it generally is a very busy day they will run the carousel more frequently. Same applies to the tractor/train ride. These are both free and you are able to ride on these however many times you wish during the day

➻ Pony rides are also available for $5 which you will need to pay extra for at the front desk. They were unavailable at the time we visited due to COVID restrictions, however hopefully this will be something that will be back up and running soon

➻ There is a big bouncy castle located on the grounds which is free of charge and also conveniently placed undercover. Jumping on it was most definitely Noah’s favourite part of his day, I struggled to get him to come off it many a time !

➻ Make sure to wear appropriate footwear as due to obviously being a farm, there is a whooooole lotta animal poop you will be trying to avoid stepping in during the day! A lot of children we saw there had gumboots on which I thought was a great idea. I also bought Noah some normal footwear to change into just in case his feet got too sweaty from being in his gumboots all day

➻ There are so many different animals you can get up close and personal with and they are all very friendly ( well mostly all apart from a few grumpy birds!) Sheep, goats, ducks, geese, camels and kangaroos are just a few of the different types you will see on the day! There is an area on the farm dedicated to housing guinea pigs and rabbits where you are able to get up close and feed them. Its a great spot for little kids as the pens are very enclosed and it makes for a more one on one experience

➻ Merry go round seats was sanitized after every use as well
