I am so happy to be able to finally share the outcome of Noah’s new toddler room makeover after what feels like a forever process in getting it done! Usually I don’t ever have too much trouble coming up with designs and ideas on how to decorate the rooms in our home, but I hit a complete wall with this one and for the life of me I just couldn’t come up with any ideas of how to style this space. I knew I wanted a main feature wall where his bed would be but where would I start I had NO CLUE what to even do with it. I thought about wainscoting as we have that throughout our main living area of our house but then I was also wanting to have something special and different in his space. I also thought about putting timber wall paneling along the wall but that idea was quickly erased once we figured that it would cost about $400 just to buy the materials. So, I put my head down and off I went to the land of Pinterest and prayed that I would find a great idea for a design for Noah’s main wall, that then would hopefully lead me to some more ideas of how to get this space to come together
And, as always, Pinterest pulled through with the goods. I stuck with the theme of “wainscoting/paneling” but instead I decided to do a different style of it on Noah’s wall. The best thing about installing wall paneling is that you can design your wall to look however you wish, all it takes is some timber pieces, glue and a nail gun. It was super cheap to buy the wood and it took my husband probably less than an hour to nail the wood pieces onto the wall. I also took an idea that I saw from a quite a few different room’s on Pinterest to incorporate wallpaper onto the top part of the wall above the wall paneling. And, I really loved the look of gingham so I thought that something along those lines would fit perfectly into this space. After we finished this wall everything sort of started to fall into place. The big picture above Noah’s bed head was a no brainer too. Noah’s obsession is anything cars, trains or trucks and so when I found this absolutely amazing VW Combi digital print from Etsy I just knew I had to have it printed out for him
In terms of the rest of the space, I just wanted it to be a really cool, fun place that he could come and chill in and that he knew would be his own private sanctuary. I still wanted it to not be too grown up for him but also not too much of a “baby” space as he is a little toddler now (as much as I want to cry at the thought of that!) and I felt like he needed a room to represent that. So far Noah LOVES his new room! He has been sleeping in his new bed for a few weeks now and thankfully with no issues. We are really lucky his transition to his big boy room has been a really great one. Overall I am so so super happy with how everything turned out and I hope this space is something that Noah will love and will grow with for quite a few years to come

Smaller details
* Paint colour (used on wall paneling ) | Taubmans – Grounded
* Hanging the egg chair | Make sure to choose some rope that can support the weight of the chair. We bought our rope from Bunnings. We also found the thickest ceiling hook possible and screwed this into the ceiling (it went into the wood in our roof)
* Wall paneling | Installed ourselves by nailing it onto the wall/ and with glue. Wood cost approx $30-$40 dollars all up and we cut the smaller timber pieces ourselves. It was extremely easy to install, I think it took my husband less than 30 minutes to nail the wood onto the wall. This type of wall paneling is also a personal choice on how you want it to look, the width, the height etc so. I found a lot of inspo from Pinterest and there are so many different types of paneling you can do to your wall. It’s a super easy to install and really aesthetically pleasing
